Get your Connecticut Pistol Permit

The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course – a prerequisite to apply for your Connecticut State Permit to Carry Pistols or Revolvers – introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. This is not a concealed carry or self-defense program, rather you’ll learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, various pistol shooting activities and continuing education opportunities available to you.

Connecticut Pistol Permit Recognition & Reciprocity

Your Connecticut pistol permit allows you to carry in 25 states* including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
