The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course – a prerequisite to apply for your Connecticut State Permit to Carry Pistols or Revolvers – introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. This is not a concealed carry or self-defense program, rather you’ll learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, various pistol shooting activities and continuing education opportunities available to you.
